2022 Election Information

Get Ready For Maryland Elections - If you need to register to vote or change your registration, Maryland makes it easy to do much of this online. The Board of Elections website allows you to:
  • Register to vote (starting at age 16)
  • Change your address or party registration
  • Request a mail-in ballot


Vote On Election Day: TUE 11/8 (7am-8pm) NOTE: You can register to vote on election day. Go to the polling place assigned for your residence & bring a document that proves where you live (eg: MVA license or ID, change of address card, paycheck, bank statement, utility bill).

Instructions for Mail-In Voting - You can return your ballot by mail or leave it at a drop box in the county where you are registered to vote.
  • The deadline to postmark or put a ballot in a drop box is 11/8 8pm.

  • Pur your completed ballot in the return envelope & remember to sign the oath or the ballot won't count.

  • The full list of drop boxes for Montgomery County voters is online.

  • The full list of drop boxes for all Maryland counties is online.

Note: In Maryland you must be registered as a Democrat to vote in the 2022 Democratic Primaries for Governor, Congress, Attorney General, Comptroller, State Senator, Delegate, County Executive, County Council, etc. In Montgomery County, many of these local races will effectively be decided during the Primary Election.
